The problems of hacking, threats, extortions and rescues do not end, and today Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that the company is being threatened by alleged hackers who claim to have "a movie" of Disney. These hackers are asking for a "large sum of money" from bitcoins in exchange for not posting the movie online before its release in cinemas.
Iger initially did not give details about the film that could have been stolen, said the company will not pay any amount to hackers, who have threatened to broadcast fragments of the tape if they do not receive the money.
The company has refused to pay hackers despite the threat of spreading fragments of the movie
Iger's remarks came at a meeting in New York with ABC employees, according to sources behind The Hollywood Reporter.
Disney, who is now working with federal investigators to solve this issue, has on the horizon more immediate releases such as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales or Cars 3.
Iger pointed out that the hackers were asking for a large sum of money in bitcoin digital currency and threatened, in the first place, to reveal five minutes of that feature.

If their economic pretensions were not fulfilled, then the hackers would reveal fragments of 20 minutes until receiving the payment.
The impact that a leak of this type could have for Disney is unknown, since the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is today one of the most successful, with a global box office gross of more than 3.7 billion dollars since its inception. Launched in 2003. And we only talk about non-product films like souvenirs, attractions, costumes, toys and so on.
Until now, the name of the hacker (s) responsible for this leak is unknown, but it is quite similar to what happened a few days ago with Netflix, who was also extorted to pay for episodes of 'Orange is the New Black'. In this case, Netflix also did not pay for the ransom and saw how they were published of the chapter of the series.
In that case, the hacker known as 'The Dark Overlord' claimed that Netflix was not the only one and in the next few days we would see new attempts at extortion to studies like ABC, National Geographic, FOX, IFX, among others. And since ABC is owned by Disney and used by the same production providers.
Pirates atack the Pirates Film....this is supect ;-)
