In today's CoinTalk, an anonymous whistleblower reveals major vulnerabilities found in Substratum's ICO contract, self-driving cars meet the blockchain, Youtube's monetization takes another punch from crypto, Coinmarketcap.com continues to list scam coins, and Ethereum is headed for Mars.
Vulnerabilities Found in Substratum's ICO Contract
An article posted on Medium by user YaganiLight, has revealed worrying signs about the state of Substratum's ICO contract.
YoganiLight reveals the contract is a direct copy and paste job of Skincoin, an obscure Russian token.
Furthermore, Substratum has no token limit, meaning an unlimited amount of coins can be created at any time – something that should be of great concern to investors.
If this isn't worrying enough, even though Substratum claims to be able to burn coins, the contract supposedly has no such burn function.
On the surface, Substratum looks like a great project. However, the question must be raised, how can the Dev Team pull it off when they can't even make a proper smart contract?

Self Driving Cars Meet the Blockchain
Amazix has just announced their latest crowdsale: DAV, a blockchain for self-driving cars.
The DAV foundation aims to create a worldwide network of autonomous vehicles, from drones to cars.
Not only will their blockchain create a transparent worldwide standard for self-driving cars, but users will also be able to lease their own vehicles to others on the network.
The DAV foundation is looking to tackle one of the most ambitious projects in the crypto space to date. The crowdsale will run for a month starting on March 13 this year.

Crypto Delivers Another Blow to YouTube's Failed Monetization Policies
The positive announcements coming from the BAT team just keep on flowing.
BAT's CEO, Brendan Eich, has announced on the LunDuke Show, BAT's intention to form an affiliate program with YouTuber's sometime this year.
The program will include direct grants and referral payments for YouTuber's who convert their Audience to the Brave Browser.
This should give a huge boost to Brave's user base and provide a much-needed reprieve for the many YouTubers hurting under YouTube's failed monetization program.

Bitconnect Still Being Listed on coinmarketcap.com
Members of the crypto community have been voicing their frustrations over CMC's insistence to keep listing the known scam coin BitConnect.
It's been a week since the collapse of the known Ponzi scam Bitconnect, and CMC seemingly has no desire to remove the rotten apple from the basket.
By keeping Bitconnect listed, there is a concern that many un-informed investors may be fooled into thinking Bitconnect is a legitimate operation.
Some crypto enthusiast have called for boycotting CMC in favor of other price sites like livecoinwatch.com and coincheckup.com
If you are unaware of the dangers surrounding Bitconnect, read @buggedout 's post here.
Ethereum Headed to Mars
2017 saw the ETH price Moon. However, the next stop for Ethereum may be Mars.
According to wallstreetpit.com, Jin Wei Kocsis, a professor at The University of Akron, just scored himself a 330k grant to look into ways the Ethereum blockchain can help NASA send rovers to Mars.
Kocsis will conduct research in the hopes of seeing if he can leverage AI technology and deep space communications with the Ethereum network.
ETH's participation in planetary exploration is sure to keep the price memes coming for some time.

Hi @christosthegreek
I'm a visual artist that knows next to nothing about computer science and now it's all I want to learn. I'm looking for friends I can talk to about what direction to take in my studies. If you've got the time for it, I'd greatly appreciate your feedback on some brainstorming I've done since reading an article about the potential of open protocol systems and the blockchain.
I know that I don't know what I'm talking about, and any direction you could point me in would probably be helpful.
I made a couple of flowcharts illustrating my notions here: https://steemit.com/fiction/@kdneeley/id-1-0
There is also a fictional story, it was really exciting to me when I wrote it but I've since realized how boring it is :)
Here's my initial brainstorm on holy mowly look where this all might be headed!! https://steemit.com/blockchain/@kdneeley/what-if
Am I off my rocker? Or is this interconnected identity chain actually possible?

Hey @kdneeley. You're definitely off your rocker, but that is a good thing.
I'm the wrong person to ask as I'm not a Computer Scientist either. I'm just a crazy Greek guy that want's to see the end of central banks and governments.
I read some of your idea and there is a lot to unpack. I don't think i fully understand what you're proposing.
I like some of your idea, especially creating a blockchain that can stop copyright infringements. However, having technology whereby someone can scan me and get all my information gives me a "big brother" vibe.
Sorry I can't be of much help.
