Natalie, who is already scared of flying, paid extra to get a seat at the emergency exit to get more room. She wrote at her Instagram that she made herself as small as possible throughout the flight to avoid disturbing anyone. Still, her neighbor found it necessary to photograph her secretly and send grim messages to someone called Linda. "Hopefully, she did not eat Mexican," Linda sent. "I think she ate a Mexican," replied her neighbor.
She confronted the man once they landed. "Do you often laugh with fat people? Do you like that?" She asks him. The man apologized to Natalie shortly afterwards because she should not be at the emergency exit because people in need of emergency exit help other people out in case of emergencies. "I work out five times a week and now i am on this plane for a photo shoot," is Natalie's answer. "You know nothing about me based on the size of my body. You do not know who's hurting you with such messages."
Natalie ends her message with "This is the daily reality for people who are fat, not just on an airplane but also on the bus when you are in line at the store, at concerts or on the Internet. There will still be people who want to hurt you. All you can do is know that you have not done anything and go on with your life, which makes me both angry and very sad. "
