DISNEY has just announced dozens of new projects for the next few years. In addition to the highly anticipated Marvel films, the Mickey Mouse house also features nine new animated series produced by Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios. According to the plan, all nine TV shows will be broadcast on Disney +.
The decision marks the production studio's new venture to launch their film. While they previously focused on feature films with theatrical releases, now Disney is directing them to its own streaming service. It is certainly a wise step to see the uncertain condition of the film industry due to the pandemic.
For you Disney lovers, note here, nine Disney and Pixar series that will be released from January 2021 to the end of 2023.
- Pixar Popcorn
Apart from being famous for feature-length animated films, Pixar's short films are no less popular. That's why the studio with the light logo decided to use this format in a new series called Pixar Popcorn .

Along with the construction of the Princess and the Frog attraction at Disneyland and Disney World, Disney is promoting it with the animated series Tiana . In this series, fans will explore 1920s New Orleans.
Reportedly, Tiana is certain to be a long-term series featuring original music. However, the series, which is rumored to air in 2022, has yet to announce its cast and creative team. In addition, Disney also has not revealed whether Tiana will be filmed using 2D animation like the original film or instead made in a 3D style like the Disney productions recently.
- Zootopia +
The animal world of Zootopia will be further explored through this latest series. Minor characters such as Fru Fru, the mouse that Judy saved from the giant donut, Flash, and the dancing tiger Gazelle will each receive a portion of the story.
Directed by two people from the Zootopia creative team , Trent Correy and Josie Trinidad, Zootopia + also features a reality show that is inspired by the real world. Starting from The Real Mousewives of Little Rodentia and So You Think You Can Prance . It is planned that Zootopia + will premiere around 2022.
- Cars
The next series is a spin-off story from the world of Cars cars . According to Docter, Cars will tell the journey of Lightning McQueen and Mater when they travel across America. "We are excited to revive the Cars franchise, " he explained.
Of course it makes sense if Disney wants to restart Cars again after spending more than US $ 1 billion (Rp.14.1 trillion) for the addition of Cars Land to Disney's California Adventure theme park in 2012.
A title for the series is still in development, but the series is set to premiere on Disney + in the fall of 2022.
- Iwaju
Walt Disney Animation Studios CCO Jennifer Lee announced Iwaju , a science fiction animated series. This project is the result of a collaboration between Disney and Kugali Media. The story will be based on Kugali Media's pan-African comic collection.
The author decided to create his own genre called Afrofuturism that presents a future when black people really existed. This makes Iwaju the only original series from Walt Disney Animation Studios. The word iwaju comes from the language spoken in West Africa. The word is clearly translated as the future.
- Moana: The Series
Fans will return to witness Moana's adventures exploring the ocean in Moana: The Series . Airing in 2023, the South Pacific princess will have her own series.
In it, Moana is told that she will further explore the sea and islands around her hometown. Details regarding the cast have yet to be announced so fans have yet to await whether Auli'i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson will reprise their roles in the project.
- Win or Lose
Win or Lose will be Pixar Animation Studios' first feature-length animated series. The story is about a junior high school softball team where each episode will follow a different child before a championship match. The series was written and directed by Carrie Hobson and Michael Yates, who worked on Toy Story 4 .
Their experiences in Toy Story 4 inspired the two to create Win or Lose . Despite their different views, Hobson and Yates are attracted by the concept of a story that is dramatically shaped by the perspective of the person telling it. Eventually the idea was turned into a fully animated series that premiered exclusively on Disney + next fall 2023. (Sam
