Have trace fossils been found on Mars?Read more: https://www.space.com/39294-mars-rover-curiosity-weird-tube-structures.htmlIn browsing the first new batch of 2018 photos taken by the Curiosity rover's Mars Hand Lens Imager (MAHLI), researcher Barry DiGregorio speculated on whether the Red Planet robot found trace fossils on Mars. DiGregorio is a research fellow for the Buckingham Centre for Astrobiology in the United Kingdom and author of the nonfiction books "Mars: The Living Planet" and "The Microbes of Mars."
"They look remarkably similar to Ordovician trace fossils I have studied and photographed here on Earth," DiGregorio told Inside Outer Space. "If not trace fossils, what other geological explanations will NASA come up with?"
A lot of people are freaking out about this news but personally I don't get it. These look like rocks to me. It seems fairly obvious we are just seeing a loose pattern resembling a dinosaur fossil but it doesn't look it is actually a fossil. This would be like seeing a face in a cloud when looking up at the sky. You can see the pattern and it's cool but you don't actually think you are seeing a person's face.

Looks like a rock to me as well.
But it’s another story since I don’t believe in live besides the earth.

Why do you not believe ? You're not obligated to believe or not, maybe just knowing that you do not know. Just my opinion, no offense :-), but I like to dream, and I need scientific proof to make me a non believer, I'm never a believer though, just not knowing :-)

We will never until we go there or we can take something back to earth to make direct mesure on it.
Anyway why think Mars could not have hosted life ? Its' like a desert planet, it's maybe naive, but if we go on an nuclear war, our planet will look like Mars in 1 billion years. Do not forget that dinosaurs get exterminated by something, if that was a meteorite why not imagine it could have hit Mars too, even really bad to the point the planet lost his atmosphere and maybe was broke apart, would also explain the Asteroid belt. Then a piece of it, or a piece of Mars could have hit earth and have consequences we know.
Maybe all of it happened hundred of thousands years before that, the original Mars was hit, destroyed, and then became what we know. Maybe life came to earth from Mars. Or maybe there was a huuuge planet that got destroyed and became all planets that are into the asteroid belt.
When we do not know, all theories are to be explored, not saying we got to put thousands of scientists and millions of $ on it, but at least keep it as a possible thing. That is just common sense to me, I have no beliefs on it, just really diverse hypothesis, that is how science go on, by dreaming and cutting down possibilities by mesuring things.
Really interesting post anyway :-)

Definitely just looks like rocks to me too. Our brains are wired to see patterns and that's exactly what's happening here (in my opinion anyway).
