The bad streak continues for now with the rare bets that I manage to get in somehow always ending up as losers. So I continue with high caution and the main goal not to dig a hole that is too deep at the start of this season hoping for things to turn around and my form to pick up. 5 matches today...
Anderlecht vs Westerlo
Anderlecht is extremely lucky so far to have 6 points on 9 which as it should have been 2 on 9 at best based on their matches and performances. They do have some new players for this match with Rits & Flips but it remains to be seen how quickly they integrate in the team. It also says a lot that Rits who is a player they see as a big enforcement in the midfield played no role for rivals Club Brugge anymore. Overall, Anderlecht right now is still a team that is on my list of teams to oppose as I see them capable of losing outright against any team in the league. Westerlo so far just took 1 point away against Eupen after getting 2 goals gifted from goalkeeper Nurudeen and they lost against both Club Brugge & AA Gent who are real top teams. They did a lot of big transfers and for sure have the budget. The problem right now is that it looks like things haven't clicked yet and coach De Roeck also is getting a bit nervous. I do see them as an upper mid-field team over the course of the season. It remains a question how they will show themselves today which also is the case for Anderlecht. I was willing to take tiny 0.1 unit bets on both

AA Gent vs Stvv
AA Gent started the season with a 9 on 9 and if anything showed that they are able to score at any given time in a match. They had a trip to Poland during the mid-week but managed to play on economy so it should not be a major factor. Overall I see Gent as one of the strongest sides in the league and they should be one of the title contenders. Stvv took an excellent start with a style change from ultra-defensive play with their last coach to a more forward style with their new one. Their main problem is the ability to really create much let alone score goals which shows in the expected goals at just a 0.66 average. They also had a fairly easy schedule so far against Standard, Kortrijk, Anderlecht. They had 2 coinflip matches and 1 where they were better team against Kortrijk away. Today will be their first real test and I'm far from sure that they will succeed. I don't expect them to crawl back and park the bus and go their chance. There was a big sharp line move with money coming in on Stvv and I don't know if it's because of team news or not. I only took cautious 0.1 unit bets so far on
AA Gent -1 @ 1.983 & 1H Over 1 @ 1.823 and also 0.05 unit on
AA Gent Win & Both To Score @ 3.690. All this with an eye to take more as I get more info on the possible move before the start of the match.
Genk vs Charleroi
Genk had another major blow during the mid-week getting eliminated from the Europa League once again against a teal that clearly had lower quality compared to theirs. This along with the fact that their finishing right now is not the best are the main trends. I see them as a team capable of totally dominating and demolishing most teams in the Belgian league if they have a good day. They are still without Heynen and Trésor is also out. Charleroi took draws against Standard and OHL at home which both are bad teams but lost deserved with 2-0 away against Cercle standing no chance. Most likely they will play again their style of breaking down the opponent and trying to come out on the counters which might work as Genk take goals way too easily. The main question right now is how well Genk will present themselves today and I see them a a wait and see what their form is team. Betting on Genk is the only real option for me though. Club Brugge vs RWDM
Club Brugge based on their performances in the last couple of matches have shown that they are the team to beat and right now they feel quite reliable that they won't have an off day. This also fully shows in the handicap which is set at -1.75 and a total at 3.5. RWDM has been a positive surprise so far this season with wins against OHL and Mechelen who both aren't the best teams. Still they played quite well overall and the 0-4 loss against Genk was an exaggerated result in a match where they could have scored. They look to be a team who don't only aim to defend but also are willing and capable of going forward. The most likely scenario if for Club Brugge to be just too strong today while it's hard to argue with the handicap. I only took a tiny 0.15 unit initial pre-game bet on

Kortrijk vs Eupen
This is already a relegation match between the 2 teams who looked worse so far in the league. Kortrijk is dead last with 0 points still after losses against Antwerp, AA Gent, & Stvv who all 3 were good opponents. Eupen somehow took 4 points already with a draw against Westerlo which was fair, a surprise 0-1 win against Genk. They so far had an average orf 0.37 Exepcetd goals while for Kortrijk it is only 0.69. I do expect both teams to go for it but often these matches play out with high nerves and poor play especially in 1st half with fear to lose bigger than win to win. I can agree with the -0.25 line on Kortrijk as the home team.
