Not much action yesterday as lines are just too sharp at the moment. I'm glad I stayed away from the obvious Antwerp low-odds winner and ended with a push on my main bet. 2 Matches only on Saturday.
Standard vs Cercle Brugge
Standard out of 3 matches against Stvv (1-0), Union (0-1) & last week against Charleroi (1-1) just took 1 point so far which was justified based on the overall low quality they brought. Their issue is that key players that were on loan left while there is no real budget to enforce leaving them with a team that is nowhere close to the former top team they once were. Last season with Deila, they managed to make the difference on drive, especially at home. There however always is is a chance that theiy overperform at home in any match. The main problem seems to be creating chances let alone scoring goals as they rank 2nd last in expected goals with just an average of 0.59 a match. In their previous 2 matches they also each got 12 corners against. So overall, Standard is a team that I'm looking to oppose still. Cercle Brugge in the first 3 matches showed that they are worth the hype. They narrowly but deserved lost against Antwerp with 1-0, convincingly won with 2-0 at home against Charleroi and last week again narrowly lost at home against Genk 0-1 in a match where they deserved more. The main issue with Cercle Brugge is that it's hard to say that they are undervalued also going 1W-2L so far against the asian handicap. So the line seems to be perfectly set at Cercle as the small -0.25 away favorite in a match that never is easy away in Standard. I do expect a match where both teams want to go for the win but finishing quality might now be good enough. I do like Cercle on the corners as Standard got 12 against in their last 2 matches while Cercle always manage to create their share of corners. I took split 0.05ETH of crypto bets on

dexsport.io. 0.012 ETH on 1H Cercle O 2.5 CK @ 2.20, Cercle FT O 4.5 @ 1.750 , Cercle FT O 5.5 CK 2.30 | 0.007 ETH on Cercle FT O 6.5 CK | 3.20 | 0.005 ETH on Cercle FT O 7.5 CK @ 4.60 | 0.002 ETH on Cercle FT O 8.5 CK @ 6.90 and I will keep it at that for now. Best case scenario, Standard starts strong moving the line to be unable to maintain it more than 10-15 minutes with an opportunity to get Cercle at that point with better odds.
Kv Mechelen vs Union SG
I had very low expectations for Mechelen this season which was confirmed in the results so far with a declining form. They looked ok in the first match against Club Brugge away taking a flattering 1-1 draw, Narrowly lost at home against Gent with 0-1 and took a deserved 1-0 loss against Stvv. The thing that they are really lacking right now is enough dare and belief. So I do expect them to come out today maybe a bit overly eager. With just 0.64 expected goals they are near the bottom of those standings. Union is a team who once again is surprising everyone taking 9 on 9 against Anderlecht, Standard, & Leuven fully deserved. All this despite the fact that nearly their entire team left. It can be expected for them to fall back at some point but right now there is no indication for that whatsoever. Especially their defense looked quite strong and they have been in a trend where they play a good 1st half while unable to maintain it in the 2nd. Pretty much all of this makes it that they are the -0.75 away favorite which is just impossible to bet. I do have a slight lean on Union 1H -0.25 and 1H Over 1 but I will wait and see for now. My thought was also to back Mechelen to have moe fouls or cards as I expect them possibly going in overdrive on the effort but Union is not the team I want to oppose on that. So
