Everybody knows AMD, the graphics card (GPU) maker. It looks like they're catering more towards the crypto-enthusiast community (Well I'm sure they have to thank us for the large influx in sales of their Graphics Cards) with their new Sofware Package.
Named "Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition Beta for Blockchain Compute" which you can read about here, it is a beta-level driver used for mining cryptocurrency, it does so by focusing on improving the performance of GPU's.
This addition to AMD's arsenal is due to the rising demand for its GPU's, thanks to the rising prices in the Cryptocurrency Markets. Both Nvidia and AMD are both profiting from such a surge. Though amongst the two, it is clear that AMD is rather bullish on the Cryptocurrency market as a whole, you can see their recent statements on the matter here.
Even Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang claims that Cryptocurrencies are here to stay.
Though this software will enable computers to communicate with hardware components better. This is a positive sign that AMD is looking to keep miners around for the time being. AMD published the driver as a beta release, noting that it "will not be supported with further updates, upgrades or bug fixes."
