Great news for Czech and German travelers: train ride Prague - Dresden under one hour!

Hi everyone!

I recently informed you that Prague, the capital of my beautiful homeland, the Czech Republic, now has direct flights to Philadelphia with American Airlines in this post and today, I am coming with another great news for all Czech (and German) travelers.

Czech Transport Minister and his German counterpart are close to signing an agreement about a huge, joint construction of a high-speed railway with over 26 km (16 mi) long tunnel connecting the German city of Dresden and the Czech capital Prague. Once the new railway is finished, the trains are expected to go as fast as over 350 km (218 mi) per hour, thus reducing the time from current 2 hours and 15 minutes to only 52 minutes!

It is needless to say this ambitious project will cost a lot of money (probably hundreds of millions Euros) but the costs will be shared by both countries. The second largest city of the German state of Saxony, Dresden is a popular tourist destination known for numerous architectural jewels so the possibility to be there from Prague in less than an hour will certainly be appreciated by many Czech (and foreign) travelers.

These high-speed trains are very needed in North America. The long distances here are absolutely brutal.

Yeah, I can imagine. Those trains really are making a huge difference. I wish we had them within the country as well but unfortunately, we don´t.

Really it s a great news..I check the prices ..it s from €14.90..

Oh well, I think those might go up once the project is finished. Let´s see.

Congratulations Tomas,
Now, these two nations can easily visit each other for good, and also it is really a great news for the travelers!

I'm amazed to know about the speed of the train, 350/km per hour, mazing, isn't it?

As we all know time is money, those who travel between these two countries now can save 1 hour and 38 minutes!
hats off to both governments.

Yep, like you say, time is money and now quite a substantial amount of time can be saved.

Yeah ♥♥♥

Hello! I visited both Prague and Dresden. In Dresden, my love is an art gallery. And in Prague - of course, a dark beer)))
Now I remember Greece, and I write posts in my blog about the history, myths and legends of this country. Traveling is wonderful!

Hope they will ask Chinese people to come and build it, otherwise it will take half a century to finish.... Chinese will manage in half a year...

LOL, I know where you are coming from.....

That would be great for both countries, now they can visit more often and more freely.

I would love to congrats you @czechglobalhosts sir for this amazing news and development.

It's is great to know that

Once the new railway is finished, the trains are expected to go as fast as over 350 km (218 mi) per hour, thus reducing the time from current 2 hours and 15 minutes to only 52 minutes!

Yeah, that sure is a great development for both countries.

Other than the time saving factor, this step will strengthen the mutual bonding of the both countries in a very positive way. Other than this factor, this thing will enhance the tourism for both countries.

I work in Polish railways and we also have a great offer where the travel from Poland to the Czech Republic costs 25 €. As for the German railways, they become more dangerous. They hear a lot and talk on tv.
