Too often politicians are just liars. This just shows how much more of a politician "Dr." Fauci is than an actual doctor.

I suppose he is trying to get away with this on a technicality (though I suspect that he believes his own lies at this point anyway). After all, he didn't FORCE schools to close. But the fact of the matter is that he was sitting in a consequence free political position spouting off what schools should be doing (and to be clear, he repeatedly advocated closing schools) meanwhile, those actually making the decisions will face nothing but bad consequences if they go against Fauci and ANYTHING remotely bad happens (even if the outcome is better than the alternative). Imagine being the person who decided schools shouldn't close, defying the advice of Fauci, and even one student or teacher dies or suffers serious illness. That's probably not a position that very many people were willing to put themselves in.

So sure, he could argue he didn't FORCE schools to close but to argue that he had "nothing to do" with it is complete nonsense. He was supposed to be the expert able to make the correct recommendations. Clearly he isn't and never should have been in that position. If he really wants to make himself look better, he should be open and honest regarding the things he was wrong about and talk about how we can do better next time. Instead, he just claims not to be wrong about anything and if something "wrong" happened it must have been someone else's fault.

So the lesson today kids is: Never take responsibility for your own actions. Always blame someone else.
