I would say that for the most part these intellectuals do. The most obvious signal that this is true is the fact that the pictures individuals (Sam Harris, Jordan Peterson, Dave Rubin, and Ben Shapiro) all discuss/debate topics on which they hold views that are often in opposition of each other. Aside from the discussions they have between themselves, they also interact with the general public in quite a civil manner. They don't shy away from a topic, and as such, their opinions are sometimes open to more criticism than more mainstream figures.
If one were to listen to an hour of each of these men every week, I believe their friends, coworkers and other acquaintances would notice an increased openness. They each challenge their audiences minds in different ways, and I personally have had my opinion shifted by each of them.
