Steemit: ANALYSIS of Devin Nunes FBI Memo (verdict: nothing-burger) [dTube]

in news •  7 years ago

Congressional Republicans release the memo written by House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) alleging that the FBI abused the FISA warrant application process against Trump foreign policy adviser Carter Page; the memo ultimately did not live up to the hype nor have anything to do with special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation

good job 👏

@davidpakman - When I finally took a moment to read the memo, my jaw fell to the floor. Not only is the entire basis of their "argument" completely taken out of context, but at the end it negates the Republican/Fox News talking point that the entire Russia Investigation was instigated as a result of the Steele Dossier (which they incorrectly insinuate was funded entirely by the DNC) by mentioning George Papadopoulos and his conversation with the Australian Ambassador as the reason for opening the investigation. It's pure propaganda to keep the attention of their base away from the mounting evidence on the horizon...

Not to mention, Nunes didn't see the intel docs that the memo is supposedly based on.

Yes. That would not be so problematic for me if it was not for Gowdy running away from it in his public statements. Nunes claimed that Gowdy was the one that reviewed the intel documents in the closed setting because he was the most experienced of that circle, and now he's the one affirming his confidence in Mueller and the investigation. That in itself completely underminds the arguments of Nunes.

On the contrary, sir. The facts in the memo undermine the original intent of Mueller's mandate. Were it not for mission creep into obstruction of justice possibilities he would have been dismissed long ago. I make it a habit to watch several news outlets with both liberal and conservative leanings to gain a balanced perspective on the events of the day. Doesn't everybody?

Couldn't disagree with you more!

As I wrote below, opinion diversity is very important and something to celebrate. People who think we should all think alike, in my opinion, are intellectually shallow.

David Pakman is a longtime mainstream-jr whore...he and his MSNBC-lite crowd are now bullying with steempower and trying to corner this (easily compromised) platform with their nonsense agenda. Remember when he shilled against Pedogate? This guy (sorry for assuming your gender, David), is a joke.

Thanks for the heads-up. I celebrate opinion diversity. https://steemit.com/diversity/@chuck2u32/celebrating-opinion-diversity

Honestly, I'm not even surprised. Maybe they shouldn't have released it at all, that way they could just keep fearmongering forever.

This whole "story" (the memo is a small part of it) is about abuse of power -plain and simple - there for it is Extremely important. We would have never known that this occurred if Trump lost that the motive being uncovered is to spy on an opponent in to facilitate their demise! This undermines our very democracy and is the stuff of communist countries! This is VERY serious, so I would reconsider making light of it.

Thumbs down!

thanks for letting me know!

to call this nothing is silly. what it shows clearly is a lack of decorum on the part of both major parties. democrats like to kill kids in yemen, and talk about civil rights in the united states. it is almost more vulgar than the republicans, who openly state their desire to utilize the american military for resource and wealth building (for a sliver of a minority of the general population, many of whom are not us citizens to begin with) and call anyone who doesn't support it un-american, even if it is un-affordable, untenable and unsustainable. these two parties are so reduced in their comprehension and reasoning abilities that they confuse academic initials for actual intelligence. most americans do not want military bases scattered throughout the entire world. most americans don't want a trillion dollars spent on military...the near 700 billion resolution is going to a group that has 2.25 million members - less than one percent of the population, in it. they are taking the money and burning it, along with the bodies of their victims, and you are saying that one party's clandestine activity is worse or better than the other. they are the same, where it matters to the world, on foreign policy. violent, bloody thieves. fortunately they are both exposed through these activities, and perhaps enough people will realize this that they can simply give way to independent representatives. if a musician can make a gold record without a recording company, because that is the digital age in which we live, it can't be much longer before a person with a good platform can be elected without a party...unless of course companies are able to throttle information accessible through the internet. but that could never happen could it.......?

Wondering news. Thanks for sharing.

Great post

Excuse me for being a little spammy, but I've mentioned you and your podcast (which I have been listening to for the better part of a decade) in my most recent post that I would certainly love for more people to see.

MEANING OF LIFE MONDAY: 42 Things I love About Steemit So Far

I don't really trust any politicians. They are all lying. We've built a system that rewards their blatant excess. All they care about at this point is their paycheck. And we that know this have to sit and suffer through the cheers of their loving supporters, blindly and outspokenly following hypocritical leadership as it drags our country to ruin.

But I digress...

Congratulations, your post received one of the top 10 most powerful upvotes in the last 12 hours. You received an upvote from @thejohalfiles valued at 221.24 SBD, based on the pending payout at the time the data was extracted.

Thanks for your information ....

this is good post!!! i follow you @davidpakman

If it is such a “nothing-burger” then why did the democrats all vote to suppress it? Wouldn’t this have made their case? If it was full of lies then why would the democrats wanted it exposed to hurt the republicans?

For an excellent analysis watch Steven Molyneux.

Because they were concerned about the classified nature of the intelligence that the memo refers to. Molyneux is a lunatic conspiracy theorist.
