Trump Earth Day Statement an Orwellian Disaster

Donald Trump's Earth Day statement is an Orwellian disaster, bragging about reducing regulations and claiming that giving corporations freedom to destroy the environment is good for our planet

What do you think about his statement, and about Earth Day?

I decided that the protection of our beautiful planet earth is my personal purpose in life and I work on this goal everyday. This 4 years with Donald Trump will be a disaster, but it might help to raise the awareness on this slowly creeping global issue. Just like airport security increases only as a result of a shocking act of terrorism, we as humans might need a drastic wake up call in the form of Trump that causes well measurable and visible changes to the environment, for us to change our perception on this problem.

What were you expecting?

Trust Trump to tailor tragedy...

Trumps opinion on climate change is actually very justified. Most scientists dont actually believe in global warming and they back it up with some strong evidence such as the fact that there is more ice in the poles than ever before, or the fact that the temperature has been consistently dropping year by year. The only people who tell us that climate change is real and a threat to the world are the big corporate labs, no one else. Trump sees global warming as propoganda that allows the government to impose more laws that take away the freedoms of businesses in order to hurt the economy. Its up to to you who you believe though...

that is absolutely ridiculous and widely debunked. 99.94% of actual peer reviewed climate studies arrive at the view that the climate is changing and it's caused by human activity. you are spreading nonsense disinformation that at this point would only resonate with the most uniformed people.

Peers? I really hope you meant scientists. And who pays for these college scientists and professors? Oh yeah, environmentalists organizations, DNC donors, and Feel the bern socialists.

I'm old enough to remember scientists warning "acid rain" was going to destroy the world by 1990. Then global warming will end the world by 2000. Under the same goofy ass logic, Dinosaur farts caused the first ice age and the Flintstones caused the second. Who are we humans to decide what the ideal climate the Earth should decide to be? Humans have only been on this planet a small fraction of time on this several billion year old planet. It doesn't take a phd in dumbass to know that a can of hairspray will never compete with the thousands of erupting volcanoes and other weather the Earth has experienced over it's 7+ billion year lifetime. To think that corporations who depend on its consumers are chomping at the bit to dump trash in our oceans is just as stupid. Environ"mental"ist or not, that would be a PR disaster that could easily take any corporation down. I love that the (supposed) only answer to environmentalism is socialism. That in itself is very revealing.

Well said. The Earth goes through natural cycles of temperature over thousands of years. The Ice Age could be seen as global cooling, and the period after could be seen as global warming. It's easy to use this cycle as another means of controlling people.

What? You don't want to go back to a time when rivers were literally on fire?

I stopped listen to this clown a long time ago. Too bad, some of his words can effect me and my life.

its not about Trump it's about us. will we choose to buy produce of corporations that known for their activity. it's our power to change things with every our choice

We have long believed from the sacred texts that the destruction on planet earth is caused by the act of human hands. The damage to our planet is true and not hoaks. All must be responsible for the destruction of this earth, individuals, government, private, and civil society organizations. The good of the earth, the sustainability of the extinct world, really exist in human hands. Humans can determine the good or bad of the world ahead. The sustainability or extinction of the earth is also dependent on humans.

Great video, David, and some of it I've been saying for half my life. Great economies tend not be great for the environment which - 'apparently' Trump is unaware of - was by definition pristine before humans evolved. Therefore, the pollution that we have to try accept is hardly normal. Pollution that came as a direct consequence of economic growth. Pollution that no sane person should want more of.

In a parallel universe, the world's political leaders will all have scientific backgrounds, no doubt. Just not this one, unfortunately. We seem to prefer buffoons and crooks to lead us.
