This video completely misses the point of the Electoral College. It was never about making sure that the presidential candidates pitched themselves to people in every state. There would have been no ratified Constitution if it had not been for the compromises that led to the Electoral College, and there will be all-out secession (or worse) if less-populous states are subjected to the tyranny of those with larger populations.
The United States was intentionally established as a republic, not a pure democracy. That is a feature, not a bug.

The will of WHAT people? There are tens millions of people who disagree with you. So, if 51% of the people think that the other 49% should be subject to what they want, that miraculously becomes "the will of the people"?
This is the danger of collectivism, even in democratic form. It's nothing more than mob rule, and the Founding Fathers wisely put up roadblocks to it.
