Solar Killshot Erupts... at Mars

Well, that's reassuring. A solar kill shot left the non-Earth Facing side of the Sun.
Possibly an X-Class Solar Flare. Good thing nobody is living on Mars right now.

Earth Facing side of the sun is calm. No sunspots. But, because of the new coronal hole, previous CME and this latest one, the Earth quake watch was high and now it is going to be extended for 48 hours.

A solar flare is an explosion on the Sun that happens when energy stored in twisted magnetic fields (usually above sunspots) is suddenly released. Flares produce a burst of radiation across the electromagnetic spectrum, from radio waves to x-rays and gamma-rays.
Coronal holes are regions where the corona is dark. These features were discovered when X-ray telescopes were first flown above the earth's atmosphere to reveal the structure of the corona across the solar disc. Coronal holes are associated with "open" magnetic field lines and are often found at the Sun's poles. The high-speed solar wind is known to originate in coronal holes.
A coronal mass ejection (CME) is a massive burst of gas and magnetic field arising from the solar corona and being released into the solar wind, as observed in a coronagraph.
