We are preparing to colonize Mars as a world. In such a situation, the internet that is used as a standard today can not be enough to communicate instantly with people on Mars.
Can we reach Mars on the other side of our house without pulling it in one corner of our house? As you know, many countries and private organizations are struggling to reach Mars under the leadership of NASA. Apart from this achievement, do we know how to get the internet that we actively use today in a fast way? Ultimately, when we build a colony in Mars, the biggest source of communication for people living here will be the internet.
Today, the data we send to Mars is a delay time of 3.5 minutes to 20 minutes. You can recall from the movie "Martian" that you would not like to wait for 20 minutes for a message. If NASA's new system turns into reality, this delay in the Internet speeds of the two planets will eventually come to an end.
We use the Internet via TCP / IP. The new system works differently than TCP / IP. The new system, introduced under the name of DTN (Dicruption Tolerant Network), can reach the other side of the internet much faster by forging the corruptions. The new DTN system has been successfully tested on 32 million kilometers of NASA spacecraft and everyone has shown how accurately it works.
The biggest advantage of using the internet without delay is that robots that can be used directly by experts over the world can make high-resolution image and sound transfers. NASA is continuing to work on this system to effectively use Mars. Perhaps we can colonize planets much more easily with this new system.
