Seeing Major Demand Increase For U.S. Food Banks

There are millions of Americans who struggle to meet and afford their daily needs. This has many turning to their community for help.
Food banks and similar organizations around the country help to fill that gap and help the many out there who need it.

Demand Exceeding Expectations for Food Banks
However, sometimes that need exceeds what's available and for one food bank recently they had to see some families turned away because they didn't have enough to meet the need at a recent distribution event held by the Coastal Bend Food Bank Monday.

They weren't expecting to see that sort of demand
More people are in need of help around the country and food banks are struggling as they have been through the pandemic to keep up.

Food banks around the country are seeing an increase in demand which the pandemic started to fuel last year as millions suddenly found themselves faced with a situation they might never have thought they would be in, having to turn to the food bank for help.

"...hunger is still a major problem here and the numbers are still higher than we saw prior to the pandemic.... One in seven Central Texans and one in five Central Texas kids still face hunger,” P. Gaither, Marketing and Communications director for the Central Texas Food Bank.

Around the U.S. there are various food banks in needs and communities that are struggling, families and children having to go hungry and without enough to eat.

With things getting more expensive it isn't making it easier for average Americans as well as those who are struggling economically.

From free fridges to food banks however there are many people who have been working to help solve the issue.
