Well it's official, Donald Trump couldn't take having "Mr. Bannon" around anymore.
Many people believe Steve Bannon was the devil on Donald Trumps shoulder. The real power behind the scenes and the reason most support for President Trump comes from the hard line populist / white nationalist fringe of America.
The Chief Strategist and Senior Counselor to the President now joins the growing list of Trump administration officials who have either been fired, quit outright, or quietly "resigned".

... and judging from the rate of turnover in this white house, it is probably just a matter of time.
Now the question is
- After Bannon is gone, will it make any difference at all.
- Are the constant changes to senior white house staff just growing pains for a "not a politician, politician".
- Will the insanity that is the Donald Trump administration continue.
- Does General Kelly have any chance of reigning it in.
- What will the next 211 days look like

"Does it matter?" That is a question I avoid asking myself. After Trump became president even though he lost the popular vote by 3.2 million, does anything matter? Oh well, life goes on. The personal is political but the political is not personal (or at least it shouldn't be).

Elections are not decided by the popular vote, if that were the case only the large pop states would matter. The electoral college was created knowing that'd be a problem.
Until we can create a better system it's the only one that makes sure each state gets representation in presidential elections. I like the idea of replacing the president with a group of people. Get a group of 4-8 people, each elected.

The Electoral College was created to protect the slave states. The founders who wrote the Constitution knew that direct elections would be a problem, because there were so few qualified voters in the south.
