Florida woman strikes! Adult caught on door cams taking entire pots of Halloween candy

in news •  3 years ago

I haven't been trick or treating in many years. I also live in an apartment building that no one can gain access to our doors unless they have the code to get in the front door. Therefore, we do not ever have trick or treaters. I do remember how much fun it was as a kid though and how much I looked forward to it every year. You dress up as a superhero, go knock and random people's doors and they give you candy... what an amazing day for a kid!

These days it seems that more and more people are simply putting giant cauldrons or boxes of candy outside and allowing kids to just come up and take what they want and for the most part the kids don't go crazy with it and take all of it and leave nothing for other kids. That is until we get to Florida, where it seems almost anything crazy can happen.

You've likely already seen the videos from another source as these clips went viral pretty quickly. Some of the other ones that I saw didn't have her face blurred out but I can no longer find them. The story is pretty simple here though. A woman who was wandering the neighborhood fully dressed up in a costume and with no children in tow, went up to a Tampa house and took ALL of the candy that was left out for kids. That's a real class act there isn't it?

The woman has not been identified but the homeowner named Andy Signore was actually out trick or treating with his own family when his app on his phone alerted him that someone was at the front of his house. He watched in shock as the lone woman proceeded to empty both of this buckets of candy that were left out for kids, into her own bucket and then just walked off.

The woman has not been identified or arrested and honestly, what are you going to charge her with anyway? This is a really bizarre crime that kind of defies all sensibility. If I had done something like this I would have expected this sort of behavior from the likes of the same people, normally teens, that decide that Halloween is a good opportunity to throw eggs at houses or toilet paper someone's trees. A lone woman dressed in full regalia though? Now that is something that Florida was made for!

Andy Signore talked to a local news station and simply said "It was super mean, what adult needs that much free candy?" I agree buddy and I hope that this particular Florida woman is shaking in her boots right now. She definitely deserves to be named and shamed and I commend Andy for not revealing the identity of her. As crazy and mean as this whole operation sounds it really wouldn't surprise me if this becomes some sort of trend next year until we reach the point where nobody wants to even be involved in trick or treating anymore. Since that was such a wonderful part of my, and millions of other people's childhoods, this is a damn shame.

There's this scene in the movie “Full Metal Jacket” when Private Pyle left his footlocker unlocked, and Gunny said to him, “If it weren't for dick heads like you, there wouldn't be any thievery in this world, would there?"

We’re always going to have one asshat that steals something that we do not secure. This is one of those examples. I guess he better hand out the candy next time…lol.

I really liked this post @dumb-news, it made me smile :)

Full Metal Jacket is a masterpiece. I may have to go back and watch that again very soon.

I think that 85% of the people in the world are good people. Unfortunately the other 15% are the reason why we all have to be on our guard at all times.

With a body like that she at the very least needs to blow me a kiss so I won't be mad but just annoyed that she took all my candy. LOL

haha, perfect answer!
