When everything becomes racist, nothing is. Things have gotten a bit out of control in the USA regarding claims of racism and now the cannon, so it appears, is being turned in every direction as everyone seems to be having a competition of sorts to see who can make the most unnecessary problems for others. I find it all to be exceptionally stupid or dumb, and the latest victim is none other than a black guy who I think most people probably quite like.
It doesn't matter though because it's "racist" just because some anonymous Karens complain about it.

Most people probably didn't even know that Snoop had a brand of wines out there. Snoop probably knows about as much about wine as Trump knows about vodka but none of this is really relevant anymore. It isn't the first time that a celebrity has endorsed a product that they don't actually have anything to do with. This isn't the problem here.
The reason why people had a problem with the wine and the advertisements for it was because the bottles and the adverts were celebrating 14 people who were convicted of crimes that they may or may not have actually committed and then "beat the system" by getting seriously reduced sentences or getting acquitted. There were 14 hardened criminals in total. Two of them were Snoop himself and also his unlikely friend Martha Stewart.

The famous criminals on the bottles were not all one race, as is exhibited by Martha Stewart being one of them, but there was also Australian penal colonists featured as well. The idea, I think, was to have as much of a global appeal as possible. I don't know if anyone actually thinks the wine tastes at all good, but I don't think that is why people were ever going to be buying it in the first place.
A supermarket chain in Georgia called Kroger was the first to ban the sale of the item and removed all the displays when a number of customers claimed that it was offensive to release this product during the celebration of black history month.
Kroger's hands were probably kind of tied at this point because just as we have seen over the past several years, if someone out there decides to become a squeaky enough wheel, they can create some sort of odd boycott of the chain even if their information for doing so is completely misguided.
Not to be outdone by one group of Karens, another group of Karens is not complaining that the removal of the product is also racist, so we find ourselves in a bit of a conundrum here: If Kroger doesn't remove the product they are racist, if they DO remove the product they are racist.

Even though I don't generally drink that much wine, I think that this was actually quite an inventive product and I likely would have bought one of them. Seeing as how this news has made the product even more famous than it could possibly have been without the free publicity and outcry from idiots on Twitter, perhaps the company that makes 19 crimes isn't at all disappointed about this banning event. The conspiracy theorist in me kind of thinks that perhaps the company themselves started the controversy on purpose to get exposure.
Either way, the fact that a bottle of wine can possibly be called racist shows how dumb our society has become in recent years.

I don't even get why it was though to be racist by Kroger to begin with. If Kroger could write a one paragraph explanation as to WHY this wine is racist, that would be great. I don't think the word crime appearing near the image of a black person quite qualifies. This isn't just dumb. It's stupid, idiotic, and perhaps even insane. And that's only because i can't think of worse adjectives at the moment.

I recently saw an clip from Bill Maher, and guy who I guess I kind of respect, who was making a segment about how the Karens of the USA are destroying anything that is fun and are basically just ruining anything. The need for social media attention in USA is making everything sterile and boring.
There is nothing racist about this wine, it was just a different kind of marketing, which Snoop Dogg is actually extremely good at.
