Man in prison sues mustard company for "improper labeling"

I have to shake my head in disbelief on a regular basis about what the world has become. I have felt as though the litigious nature of the United States has been a bit wonky all my life but some lawsuits that are thrown out there are more crazy than others. Now the fact that the man in question is currently in prison awaiting sentencing for attempting to have sex with a 13 year old doesn't help his case, but justice is supposed to be blind, right?

Now, I'm no Adonis or anything but if you were to give me a series of pictures and ask me to select who I thought was a pedophile based solely on their looks I would definitely select this image. That is David Lettieri, and he is currently in an Ohio prison for "enticement of a minor" which is a charge I have never heard of before but am glad it exists. He lured a 13 year old girl to a meetup where it was determined he intended to have relations with her. I don't know the details of his case but I do know that he was found guilty and is awaiting sentencing.

I guess you have a lot of free time in prison especially if you are found guilty of being a kiddie-fiddler because generally they have to put these offenders in solitary confinement due to the internal justice system that takes place in prisons where the pedos are generally targeted for extra terrible treatment by other inmates. For the most part, people who are convicted of child sex offenses are beaten ruthlessly or killed by other prisoners. I can't say that I feel bad for people when this happens to them either.

David has used his spare time to come up with one hell of a lawsuit and is suing for $450,000 from a company that manufactures little mustard packets that you would expect to receive in a take-away. The package in question doesn't have nutritional information and David has suggested in his suit that this is "intentionally misleading customers in to consuming carbohydrates."

One of his lines of reasoning for the deception is that he doesn't know what turmeric is and therefore cannot know if it has carbs in it or not. He also blames his inability to research what this item is on the fact that he is incarcerated and therefore doesn't have access to research materials or the internet. I would imagine he may sue the prison next. "Good luck with that" is what I would have said in the past but seeing how lawsuits have been going in USA lately with violent rioters getting massive payouts from police forces and how many people have successfully sued food manufacturers for "making them fat" in the past it really wouldn't surprise me if he was somewhat successful in this endeavor.

I enjoy the fact that we have nutritional information on packaging as much as the next guy but honestly, I feel as though they go above and beyond a rational call of duty here by telling you what is in a staple like mustard already. David has also stated in his suit that they company needs to indicate what type of spices they are using as well.

He has made this suit without the assistance of a lawyer and is simply doing it on his own.

I sincerely hope that he is unsuccessful in this suit because this just leads to more clown world stuff across the board and will simply invite more people do follow and do the same. I bet it is really annoying to own a company when people can put forward suits of this nature and now the supposed offending party has to hire lawyers and get involved financially regardless of the outcome. I'm not certain about the process so I believe it would first have to be decided by a judge if he actually has a genuine grievance. I'm extremely hopeful this gets thrown out though because honestly, we have enough crazy in the world here already. To quote Jack Nicholson "go sell crazy somewhere else, we're all stocked up here."
