Vice has been one of the worst partisan media outlets of the past 6 years or so. Their ultra-partisan viewpoint was evident and they simply fed fuel to the fire as far as almost anything is concerned politically. They were also guilty of many articles and televised specials that were pushing a certain viewpoint regarding other political issues, many of which were around the education / indoctrination of children as far as sexuality is concerned.
I think most sane people always ignored Vice, but they did at one point manage to garner a rather large following based on they and their viewers' mutual hatred for Trump. To be fair to them this was a very effective business plan at the time but I am pleased to see that this tactic no longer seems to work for media outlets and we are starting to see more and more of them fall due to a complete loss in interest, then revenue, then an ability to function as a company at all.

I'm not one to celebrate the ending of anyone's career or the hurt that comes with no longer having a job and especially in journalism, probably the inability to find another job in this nearly-dead career path, but when your company's entire existence is based on the spreading of lies and only presenting one singular and easily identified point of view, well, I guess you get what you deserve.
While it was news to me because I don't really care about organizations like Vice they actually filed for bankruptcy last year and they have attempted to restructure since that time. If we look back into the company's past they were actually once a very interesting as well as immensely profitable company that appealed to younger audiences due to their focus on technology, tv, and films. They company was once valued at $5.7 billion. During their bankruptcy they were sold to another group for a mere $350 million. In my mind the fact that this company was ever worth even the lower amount is astounding.
I don't think it is a coincidence that they started to plummet from being interesting in 2017 because that was right around the time that they transitioned from having stories about a wide array of topics, to being almost completely purveyors of politics with a focus entirely on badmouthing conservatives. When they did this, they alienated 50% of their possible audience, who simply tuned out from that point forward. Instead of realizing that the consequences of their own actions were what made this happen and reversing course, they doubled down and continued down the path of attempting to appeal only to the lefties. Lo' and behold, the lefties abandoned them as well in the end, and the stories and specials that they would fund and release were no longer being viewed by almost anyone.
So while they have not completely stopped functioning as a company, it appears as though this is the eventuality. They are announcing hundreds of permanent layoffs in the coming weeks and they have ceased publishing to Vice.com.
There aren't many examples, there might not be any actually, of an entertainment or news organization that has managed to bounce back from a setback like this and while all media is dropping in value including conservative ones, it seems as though the hyper-liberal ones are the companies that are facing the most backlash from all of this. BuzzFeed already went under and I was quite happy to see that happen as well.
I hope that this is a sign of people in the world and USA tiring of being lied to and therefore they don't pay any attention to organizations that even though they like what they have to say, the audience is getting smart enough to realize that what they are being fed, is a pack of lies and attempts at indoctrination.
Another one bites the dust and I say, good riddance.
