Residents in Barakati Village, Batudaa Sub-district, Gorontalo managed to capture a king cobra snake because it often eat pet citizens. The snake was found when residents were about to leave for the cornfield.

Residents caught the king cobra snake on Friday (1/12) ago. The snake is then submitted to the Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) Gorontalo on Saturday (9/12).

The settlement of the people in Barakati Village is indeed with the snake cave. Previous residents are also often busy catching snakes that appear to the settlement.

"Recently the villagers managed to capture a three-meter-long python under a chicken coop, which was later killed because the residents have been restless, because they often prey on their pets," said one resident, Frangki Detuage.

Frangki said residents often catch snakes in the area. Various types of snakes are caught there are directly killed and some are submitted to BKSDA.

Head of BKSDA Gorontalo, Syamsudin Hadju said the king cobra snake that was handed over by the residents for some time had been quarantined. But the 2-meter snake was immediately released back in the snake cave.

"That we have released together with friends of animal lovers and also witnessed by the community," said Syamsudin.
