The World of Cryptocurrency - The Sad Reality

in news •  7 years ago

A few days ago, there was a massive bloodbath in the crypto market, bitcoin dips down to 6k dollars and most of us in a losing situation. Even the iconic individuals in the business industry admitted that they lose millions of dollars recently. This is how volatile bitcoin is and its so unpredictable, there is a movement in price every minute and we should be aware of this for us not to be caught off-guard.

Just recently, I heard a very sad news that there are some of our fellow cryptonians can't handle depression anymore due to the huge losses of their crypto investment. They were desperate enough to end their misery - they commit suicide. It is a very tragic ending for them and it is not worth it. We should not let depression control our being, instead, we should control our emotion and fight depression. One of the blogs of my very dear "Inkong" helps me to fight depression and frustrations in life, I am now more obliged to share this with you guys. This will surely open the mind and heart of those depressed people, this will somehow give hope for them to continue their life's journey. Please spare your precious time in reading my "Inkong's" blog - How to get over depression and Stop! Suicide Is Never a Solution, Period.

A few days ago, a 20-year-old, college student committed suicide after losing a huge amount of money approximately 250 thousand dollars in cryptocurrency trading due to the recent collapse of the crypto market.

A man in his early twenties was found dead at his home in Busan in what appears to be a suicide, police said Thursday.

According to the Busan Jin Police Station, the man was suffering from depression after losing a large amount of money trading cryptocurrencies.

The mother of the deceased told officers that her son had been taking sleeping pills after losing a huge sum of money trading cryptocurrencies following the collapse of prices on exchanges in recent months.

The 20-year-old had been performing social services, an alternative to military service, in his hometown of Busan since October after taking a leave of absence from his college in Seoul.

The death of the young man is the latest "side effect" from the cryptocurrency craze among 20-somethings.

Despite the government's continued warnings and regulatory moves, cryptocurrencies have rapidly gained popularity among young investors hoping to make quick money.

Many believe jobs that come with decent pay are scarce and buying a home through savings is nearly impossible in South Korea. Last December, youth unemployment marked an all-time high of 9.9 percent.

The police plan to investigate the exact cause of death but have not confirmed when they will release an official report.

"We will examine the case further and search for any other possible cause of death," said a police officer.

Preach it. Crypto is a place not for the faint of heart and weak of mind. We need more people talking about this or else any news is gonna cause us to be swayed in our emotions and thoughts. Any FUD can effect us negatively.

Agree bro. Many of our fellow cryptonians dont see the reality of cryptocurrency, they dont realized how volatile crypto is. They invest a huge amount and hoping to earn $$$$ without even studying how the system works. Poor boy, he now lost everything :(

Really sad to hear the tragic death of 20 years young boy. I never thought such an end of cyrptos investment. Life is a lot more precious than millions of dollars. If you remain healthy you may earn a billions so it's wise to not run behind the money. Money is important to have happy life, but life is not all about money. you have to prioritize all things in life, in my 2 cent opinion the biggest priority should be to keep yourself happy. May God give his family a patience.

yup, he is very young and he can do a lot more and if he only persevere, he can recover all those loses. By ending his life, is a total loss that cant be recovered anymore. sad :(

yes patience should be adopted in all way of life. Thick and thin comes in life. patience is must

Yes, I hope that we should be patient, and you are right opinion. thanks a lot of

agree, he is very young to end his life just because of that crypto loss. Its not worth it :(

What a thing. sad thing. Suicide never solve problem

for sure, you will just end everything, no hope at all

Anybody that does anything like that was likely already suffering before they lost their crypto.

Money alone doesn't just make you want to end your life.

agree! its not worth it! Bitcoin is just a thing but life is everything! we should learn how to control our emotion esp during our lowest moment.

Your post very difficult but I like it

difficult?

you are Absolutely right. thanks for sharing important news. keep it up.

its a sad news :(

life is a roller coaster and you just have to live it, the critop will improve, that currency came to stay

we must learn to accept losses and control our emotions.

that's right, if everything always went well then it would not be called life

Really sad to hear this. No amount of money lost should make a person consider suicide but I can definitely see how the pain begins to be unbearable after losing your life savings in a matter of days.

Only invest in crypto what you are willing to lose.

We should not let money control us instead we will control the money. Being sad and depressed is just normal for us human but committing suicide is insane. :(

It definitely was a blood bath again.
Wow those are terrible stories.
I've been worried about all the people that I've heard on the news about this past summer that were mortgaging their homes to buy Bitcoin. I certainly hope they realize how much the price swings on a regular basis and not to knee jerk react when it does.

This is extremely tragic that someone would take their lives after the market took a hit. I hope things like this wont become common if things don't get better for a bit. This is why it's important for us to remind ourselves of the potential risks when investing into crypto. I hope this also encourages others to take out some of their investments and put them into other things that help retain their moneys value. Precious metals are a great option in my opinion.

To anyone that's suffering from the hit...Stay strong because as long as you have your life, you can always figure out a way to make the money back that you lose.

It comes with ups and downs! Part of the game. Keep cool all!
