The Undertaker Did Right by Staying Retired

We're officially in wrestlemania season and the card this year looks pretty stacked. Truly, this Wrestlemania is poised to be an epic. With some pretty great match ups lined up there is one conspicuously absent from the matches we thought we were going to see - John Cena Vs The Undertaker.

Cena openly challenged Taker five weeks prior to wrestlemania, and, using his phenomenal oratory skills, built up our excitement at the thought of the 'dead man' making one last appearance. There were even rumors that Taker was going to show up as the 'American badass', a gimmick he made popular at the turn of the new century having symbolically retired the 'dead man's persona at the last wrestlemania.
Alas, it wasn't to be as we got no answer with just a couple of hours away from the biggest event in Wrestling.

I for one think it was a wise decision. While I would always love The Undertaker, knowing when to hang up the boots is an important part of bowing out with dignity. He has nothing more to prove at the WWE and is better of revered and celebrated like the legend he is.

Looking forward to a terrific wrestlemania.

I still think he's coming back tomorrow night, and included the Cena/Taker match in my Mania preview post.

I would love to see him make an appearance though, and probably tombstone Cena
