An IRS "Special Agent" Was Shot and Killed During Training Exercise

The most interesting part of this story is the IRS being a "Special Agent"?

Of course, it's very sad when someone loses their life through no fault of their own. This was one of those odd situations that not many people can explain. It's tragic. Yet, the most intriguing aspect of this entire case is the fact that we're talking about a "special agent" for the IRS Criminal Investigation division.

It's not really concerning, other than the fact that IRS agents are being trained with weapons to.. do paperwork? Of course, we're beyond the conspiracy theories. The IRS "Special Agent" is one like many within the IRS CI tasked with the special privilege of investigating embezzlement deals, money laundering and fraud. These agents can execute search warrants, seize property, and collaborate with other militarized law enforcement or intelligence agencies like the FBI, DEA and DOJ. Not exactly the pencil pushers that many claim they are. No wonder the federal government has been arming this de jure military police of the IRS.

The key takeaway that people should take from this situation is that the IRS has special agents who are receiving firearm training at federal facilities and one of their agents was accidentally shot and killed. A very uncommon situation.

Since the government is limited and unable to use the military against citizens, they must come up with another source for shock troops!

The IRS and the Nazi Gestapo seems like an obvious match....
