Putin: US Will Not Succeed Press Erdogan Because Buy S-400 Russia
Russian President Vladimir Putin believes the United States will not succeed in suppressing President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as Turkey buys Russia's S-400 missile defense system. Currently, Washington is threatening not to supply F-35 jet fighters to Ankara for buying Moscow guns
"As I know President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, it is very difficult to get any result by using pressure tools in his direction, instead it will encourage Erdogan, and he will not make compromises while protecting his national interests," Putin said in an economic forum on St Petersburg
Putin criticized the US for creating barriers in the delivery of F-35 fighters to Turkey. He said Turkey was not the first NATO member to buy Russian defense systems

The US Senate Committee on Thursday passed a defense policy bill that included measures to prevent Turkey from buying F-35 stealth fighter jets
The bill in the form of an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act or NDAA from Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Republican Senator Thom Tillis, will eliminate Turkey from the F-35 program while Ankara still holds US citizen named Andrew Brunson
The bill also cited Turkey's deal with Russia over the purchase of a surface-to-air S-400 surface-to-air missile battery system
In response to the US Senate bill, Turkey's Foreign Ministry said Washington's latest move targeted Turkey to persuade Ankara to cancel the S-400 defense system deal with Russia and free American pastor Andrew Brunson. The priest was detained in Turkey for alleged involvement in a terror attack due to his association with the Kurdish PKK group and the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ)
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo while on Capitol Hill said Wednesday he has yet to make a decision on the delivery of F-35 fighters to Turkey
