A North Korean leader when it was founded in 1948. Kim Young was born in 1917 and died in 1949, after Kim Jong Il, the "red" leader of the state until his death in 2011.
The lady was born to poor farmers. Watt, 5, her family migrated to China. A decade later, in 1932, she joined a Korean communist organization where she met her future husband.
She died during the birth of her child one year after the founding of the North Korean People's Democratic Republic, she was 31 years old.
