CoinShares Launches a $75 Million Physically-Backed Ethereum ETP

A month after launching a Bitcoin ETP on Switzerland’s SIX Exchange, CoinShares has released a physically-backed exchange-traded product following the performance of the second-largest cryptocurrency – Ethereum. Called CoinShares Physical Ethereum, the product is already listed on the regulated SIX Swiss Exchange under the ticker ETHE and has a base fee of 1.25%. Korean Government To Levy Taxes On Crypto Capital Gains

According to South Korea's amended income tax law, cryptocurrency investors will pay taxes on profits from digital currencies. As part of the income regulatory initiative, cryptocurrency traders and investors are mandated to pay 20 percent if they earn more than 2.5 million won (almost $2300 at the present exchange rate) from bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Bridgewater Analyst: Bitcoin Is An Alternative To Gold

A senior analyst at the US asset management firm, Bridgewater Associates, has opined that bitcoin should be viewed as digital gold. Rebecca Patterson, the director of investment research at Bridgewater Associates, said bitcoin could be better compared to gold than a currency due to the similarities between both assets. Stablecoin Volume Surpasses $360 Billion For February

The adjusted, monthly on-chain stablecoin volume hit a new high in February, rising above $360 billion for the first time. As expected, the volume figures were dominated by Tether (USDT). USDT saw 63.5% of the volume, with 18.7% going to USD Coin (USDC) and 9.6% to DAI. USDT also saw its most-ever volume of $232 billion in February. Dubai-based FD7 Ventures Launches $250 Million Fund To Leverage Cardano, Polkadot

Dubai-based FD7 Ventures launches a $250 million fund in India, to invest in developer teams who will build on Polkadot and Cardano. FD7 ventures will invest $5 million in 50 different projects every year per company. The most successful company will receive up to $20 million as an addition to the first investment of $5 million. Recently, Messari Crypto Researcher, Mira Christanto published a report that looks into Asia’s cryptocurrency landscape in-depth, as 60% of the world’s population resides in the region.
