Tezos âDelphiâ Upgrade Slashes Gas Costs by 75%
The Tezos blockchain has successfully implemented a new upgrade, dubbed Delphi, today. Itâs designed to make the network more attractive for applicationsâincluding decentralized finance (DeFi) onesâby drastically reducing gas costs for operations, according to an announcement. The Delphi upgrade will âtypicallyâ decrease gas consumption by around 75% thanks to a number of improvements to the blockchainâs Michelson interpreter. Tyler Winklevoss: Bitcoin Price Sets A New Record By Staying Above $15K For 96 Hours
Crypto exchange Gemini co-founder, Tyler Winklevoss has told the community via tweet that the world's largest crypto, Bitcoin has closed above the $15,000 level for the fourth consecutive day. He reminded the crypto community that this is a new record: Bitcoin has managed to stay above the $15,000 mark for the first time in 96 hours, despite failing to fix above $16,000 twice already. Total Value Locked in DeFi Hits $13.6 Billion
The U.S. dollar value of the cryptocurrency liquidity locked up in all decentralized finance (DeFi) projects has hit another record. The total value locked (TVL), as provided by analytics website DeFi Pulse, reached a new lifetime high of $13.62 billion. Harvest Finance, the decentralized platform that lets users automatically âfarmâ assets from other DeFi platforms, is helping the charge with its TVL almost doubling over 24 hours. The 84% boost to Harvest's TVL, in U.S. dollar terms, saw it jump from $473.5 million to over $890 million. Read Full on CoinDesk.
Binance Exchange Launched Its Own Mining Pool For Ethereum
Binance has launched its own mining pool for Ethereum and invites miners to join it by giving it their hash power. Binance ETH mining pool will be running on the FPPS method of crypto mining and will be charging a 0.5% fee for the Ethereum mining. Binance Pool has organised mining nodes worldwide to support participation from the global mining community. The Binance ETH Pool will be using GPU (NVIDIA or AMD, with memory for graphics cards of at least 4G), on Windows and Linux. Bitcoin Is Now The 20th Biggest Asset By Market Cap
With a market cap of nearly $300 billion, Bitcoin is now the 20th most valuable asset by market cap, according to AssetDash, a site that tracks those sorts of things. Bitcoin pipped home improvement retailer Home Depot to take the 20th position, and already beat out Verizon and PayPal. Still yet to conquer are payments companies Mastercard (18th) and Visa (11th). Akoin Can Now Be Used For Payment In Kenyan city
In its first step towards the futuristic Akon City, Akoin, the cryptocurrency business that is chaired by global artist Akon, can now be used to pay for goods and services in a west Kenyan city. the move is part of the businessâs trial run of the cryptocurrency and will see a select group of residents receive their salaries in the AKN token, and will allow them to use the token to pay for food, drink, gas, clothes and medical services in Mwale Medical Technology City (MMTC). BitPay Allows Businesses To Issue Mass Crypto Payments Around The World
Crypto payment services provider BitPay has launched BitPay Send, a new blockchain-powered mass-payout platform for businesses. BitPay Send allows organizations who do not want to handle or own crypto themselves to process crypto payments en masse. It can be used to complete payroll payments, pay contractors or affiliates, and process customer cashback and rewards programs. Paypal Enables Crypto Services For Eligible USA Users
PayPal's crypto trading went live for all eligible customers in the United States on thursday. Per its updated announcement, PayPal ended its waitlist for customers looking to trade cryptocurrency in the United States. Trading has gone live for customers in the U.S. with a limit of $20,000 per week. PayPal will notify customers about the general availability of crypto services in the coming days.
