On his Medium blog, IOTA community member Hugo Gregersen offered a tutorial on how the virtual Amazon assistant, Alexa, can be integrated with the IOTA protocol.Gregersen describes a use case with an imaginary hotel owner where funds from various devices and services running on IOTA arrive in his numerous crypto wallets. Integrating Amazon Alexa with IOTA helps him, since this would allow him to check his IOTA balances in his wallets merely with a voice command. Upcoming South Korean Film Festival Will Be Powered By Blockchain
An upcoming film festival, hosted by the Gyeonggi Film School, announced its partnership with MovieBloc, a Blockchain-based media distribution platform. The festival’s audience will be able to rate each film in real time in exchange for various tokens. Attendees will be able contribute in other ways as well, such as by providing foreign-language subtitles for various films, in return for additional token-based rewards. Neo Joins Coinbase-led Blockchain Framework Rosetta
Coinbase-led Rosetta, an open-source set of tools to help developers integrate other blockchains into their services was joined by Neo, a blockchain platform that is itself focused on interoperability. Rosetta, which launched on June 17, is a standardization tool to make it easier for blockchains to speak to each other. Each blockchain is different, making it difficult and time-consuming for crypto project developers to integrate other blockchains. Brad Garlinghouse: Fed’s Inflation Shift Is Good for Crypto
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse says signs point to further dollar debasement. In an Aug. 28 tweet, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse shared his take on the Federal Reserve’s historic decision to allow inflation to overshoot the 2 percent target. Garlinghouse believes that this unprecedented monetary policy shift is setting the stage for further dollar debasement “in the near term,” which will benefit the crypto industry. American financier and political consultant, Anthony Scaramucci appeared on Coinscrum Markets to speak about crypto. Argentina Citizens Believe Crypto Investments Extremely Safe Compared To Fiat
Global peer-to-peer bitcoin marketplace Paxful released the results of a cryptocurremncy survey in Argentina. A total of 1,113 Argentine citizens between the ages of 18 and over 55 participated. The survey shows that 73.4% of Argentina’s citizens believed crypto is the most effective saving method in the current economic crisis. Also, 69.5% responses said that they had invested at least once in cryptos. Raoul Pal thinks Federal Reserve policies could lead Bitcoin to 100x gains.Fed Chairman Jerome Powell announced on Thursday that the U.S. central bank would prioritize keeping unemployment low over reigning in inflation. The former head of European hedge fund sales for Goldman Sachs, says that the shift in monetary policy is lending major upside to gold and, to an even greater degree, Bitcoin. Ethereum 2.0 Testnet Transcends One Million ETH
There are now more than one million testnet eth validating on the new Proof of Stake (PoS) blockchain.The number of validators has also risen to above 35,000, each of which requires 32 eth. This makes it a full recovery for the testnet and a continuation of its operations to refine the network for an expected live launch this November. As can be seen the testnet has been reportedly running nicely now for some time, with epochs – a set of blocks/slots – operating as they should and validator participation at a ‘safe’ circa 75%.
