Bitcoin Now Rank 6th Among Ten Largest World Currencies
Bitcoin now rank 6th among the ten largest world currencies. The USD, EUR, CNY, JPY, and INR are the only world currencies with a larger money supply than BTC. BTCâs market cap skyrocketed to reach more than $200 billion. There are now $1.95 trillion worth of Federal Reserve currency in circulation, 1.38 trillion worth in Euro, $1.15 trillion in Chinese Yuan, 106 trillion in Japanese yen and 31 trillion in Indian rupee. US Air Force To Use Blockchain Tech For Flight Battle Systems
The U.S. Air Forceâs (USAF) continuing series of blockchain investments is entering the space of battle management systems using the technology. Raytheon BBN Technologies said in a statement this week that it won a $495,039 contract titled: âCharacterizing the applicability and relevance of DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) in Air C2â (CARDIAC) from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). Raytheon scientists and researchers will consider how blockchain can benefit a commanderâs ability to keep their eyes on the skies and their pilots safe. Read Full on btcmanager.
Justin Sun Wants To Launch Wrapped Version of BTC on TRON
The Founder and CEO of Tron (TRX), Justin Sun, has hinted that the Tron Foundation is ready to launch a wrapped version of Bitcoin on the Tron network. Mr. Sun was responding to a tweet asking him to transfer some of the TRX bullish energy to Bitcoin. Such a move would bring Bitcoinâs value to Tronâs DeFi ecosystem. Furthermore, it would capitalize on the efficiency of the Tron network which is cheap and fast speeds. Major Singapore Exchange Uses Blockchain To Issue Digital Bond
Singapore Exchange (SGX), a major investment holding company in Singapore, has issued its first digital bond powered by blockchain technology. SGX deployed its digital asset issuance platform to conduct a 400 million Singapore dollar ($294 million) 5.5-year public bond issuance for major local food and agri-business company, Olam International. According to SGX, the latest pilot of the new blockchain-enabled platform demonstrated major efficiencies like the elimination of settlement risks and reduction of settlement time from five days to two days. Alameda Research Firm Minted 70% Wrapped Bitcoin In August
As the decentralized finance (DeFi) craze continues, growth in the supply of bitcoinâs tokenized on Ethereum is keeping pace, with one company â Alameda Research â gobbling up nearly 70% of wrapped bitcoin (WBTC) minted in August. Alamedaâs accumulation of 14,654 WBTC last month came after the quantitative trading firm lobbied in July for an increase in the amount of collateral placed to earn interest on the Compound platform from 0% to 40%.
