America’s Billionaires Gain $282 Billion During Three Weeks of Pandemic

In fact, billionaires have watched their collective net worth grow by $282 billion so far during the pandemic, according to a new report from the Institute for Policy Studies.

Interesting, but I guess makes sense. Compared to millionaires who might own small businesses and S&P500 stocks, billionaires probably have more cash and gold.

And whatever business investments they have, they're more likely to have cash to weather the storm or connections to guarantee getting help from the Fed.

It's good that there are people with resources ready to help rebuild, but bad to whatever extent they're getting unfair advantages from the Fed or things like that.

Despite Amazon’s e-commerce dominance, Bezos has been unable to protect his workforce from Covid-19: Workers in 10 different Amazon warehouses tested positive for the disease in late March 3,” according to the report.

I know it's the article saying this and not you..

But I don't get statements like that. Is he supposed to be magic? If there's a pandemic going on, some workers somewhere will test positive for it. If you go to work, there's an inherent risk. I don't know why "10 different warehouses" would necessarily mean he's doing anything wrong.

I'm skeptical that the strike really has to do with a bad environment as much as it's just union leaders see an opportunity in the crisis, and aren't gonna let it go to waste.

People who have a job are practically privileged people at this point, lol. They could play it safe and stay home and take all the covid benefits. If they prefer to go to work, there naturally will be some risk to that.

I wonder what specifically they think these companies are doing that's bad or negligent or whatever. Like what policies Amazon has that they shouldn't have, or don't have that they should have.
