The country's first artificial satellite 'Bangabandhu Satellite' will be launched on May 4. The satellite will be launched from the launch pad of Florida in the United States on that day.
Chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Shahjahan Mahmud confirmed this information to Samakal at noon on Wednesday.
He said 40 delegates from Bangladesh will be present during the satellite launch. State Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Junaid Ahmed Palak and State Minister Taran Halim will be present. Besides, the secretary of post and telecommunications ministry will be present.
Construction of Bangabandhu Satellite Complex is completed in October, After this, it was announced in December that it was completed after completing its audit. In the meantime, the date of Bangabandhu satellite launch was delayed on December 16, considering bitter weather and some other practical real situation.
Through the launch of Bangabandhu satellite, Bangladesh will be proud to be a member of the World Satellite Club. This will facilitate the use of advanced technology including the saving of foreign currency in the country's broadcasting sector.
