As a major livelihood project and development project, how to do well in the reconstruction of old communities has always been the focus of the work of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
In this regard, Huang Yan, deputy minister of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, said that the renovation of old communities is not only a people's livelihood project and a development project, but also an important grassroots governance project. The level of community governance capacity is an important support for the transformation of old communities. In this regard, the housing construction department summarizes the innovative practices of the pioneer areas in mobilizing the masses to participate in joint construction, raising renovation funds through multiple channels, and installing elevators, and the promotion can be replicated. "During the '14th Five-Year Plan' period, my country will basically complete the renovation of 219,000 old communities in cities and towns built before the end of 2000. With the joint efforts of various departments and localities, positive results have been achieved. With the continuous increase of the floating population and newly employed college graduates, renting houses has become the choice of more and more new citizens and young people. According to relevant surveys, 70% of new citizens and young people in big cities now rely on renting to solve their housing problems. However, houses with affordable rents are located far away, and rents in better locations are more expensive.
