Saudi Arabia outlaws sexual harassment

Saudi Arabia has surpassed a brand new regulation to criminalise sexual harassment, kingdom media said on Wednesday, less than a month before the conservative country lifts its decades-lengthy ban on women driving.

the dominion's Shura Council, which advises the cabinet, surpassed a draft regulation on Monday which could introduce a jail term of up to 5 years and a most penalty of three hundred,000 Saudi riyals.

The law has been accepted by way of the cabinet, the reputable Saudi Press employer said.

it is “a very essential addition to the history of rules within the country”, Shura Council member Latifa al-Shaalan become quoted as pronouncing in an information ministry statement.
