Hawaii Department of Health looks to repeal Aquaponics BAN for restaurants

Hawaii is a State that prides itself on protecting the aina (land), and it is unbelievable that the State had a law, which was in existence for 30 years than bans restaurants from buying produce from aquaponics farms. The reason for this is the State was worried about the water becoming contaminated.

We had no idea that this law was in place, and it is about time because it is beyond ridiculous. The law needs to be approved by Governor David Ige. If this law is not approved this will be a travesty for Hawaii, especially in the light of the spread of Rat lungworm disease, contamination of ground water, and the need for more locally grown food for the people of Hawaii.

Great news. The greens and herbs from Aquaponics farms are widely used in Europe. Love the technology.
