Vice Governor Recommends Aceh Potential to Malaysian Scientists
BANDA ACEH-LintasGAYO.co: Vice Governor of Aceh, Ir. Nova Iriansyah, introduced various potentials that can be developed in Aceh, the delegation of the Malaysian Scientific Foundation, Thursday (25/01/2018). Among the potentials introduced are economy, tourism, culture, education and health.
"We expect this to be a good start to get to know the potential of Aceh deeper so much economic cooperation we can do," said the Vice Governor when entertaining the group of scientists.
In addition to economic potential, Nova Iriansyah also explained the implementation of Islamic Shari'ah in Aceh. The issue of Islamic law, said Nova, is one of the focus of development that is being driven under his leadership with Governor Irwandi Yusuf.
To date, 16 years of Islamic law have been applied in Aceh. Noted there are 15 qanun which has been ratified, in addition to the instructions and regulations governor associated with strengthening the implementation of Islamic Shari'a.
"Not only physical development, we are also aggressively striving syiar Islam for the entire community," said Vice Governor Nova.
Vice Governor Nova explained, Islamic Shari'a in Aceh is not only limited to the implementation of hudud, or criminal. Although criminal is one of important element, but society still be built with Islamic sciences.
The Aceh government has even paid special attention to the Islamic economy. Among the steps taken was to convert Bank Aceh, a state-owned bank which was originally a conventional bank into a bank with a Sharia system.
"We are designing the grand design of Islamic Shari'ah in Aceh. Our hope will be a grand design that could be a reference government in running activities under sharia, "said Vice Governor Nova.
Malaysian scientists led by Dato Sri Dr. Muhammad Khirtoyo. He is a former Minister of State Affairs Selangor, who is also Chairman of the Leadership Foundation of the State of Malaysia. Their arrival was welcomed by the leaders of Aceh and also the leaders of SKPA. Among those present were Assistant Governments, Vice-Chancellor of UIN Ar-Raniry, Head of Syariat Islam Office and Head of Public Relations Bureau of Setda Aceh.
Dato Muhammad Khiryoto said his arrival to Aceh was not the first. He was one of the first volunteers to arrive in Aceh during the 2004 Tsunami. He believes Aceh will become a developed region, because the foundation of development is considered to have been solid.
The foundation in question is the application of Islamic law, which became the basis of all development in Aceh. "The awareness of the people of Aceh in glorifying Islam is very strong," said Muhammad Khirtoyo.
The application of Islamic Sharia in Aceh, said Dato Muhammad Khirtoyo, can not be sued by anyone or even by any nation. It is based on the application of Islamic Shari'a on the will of the whole society. "We want to learn from Aceh," said Muhammad Khirtoyo.
In Aceh, Dato Muhammad Khirtoyo along with the entourage will see some implementation of Islamic Shari'a. One of them is the caning for the offenders to be held tomorrow at Jantho.
