THIS WAS THE FLIGHT OF THE FIRST DRX TAXI

The first taxi drone has made its first flight in Dubai. The emirate had been considering modernizing the city for months with tests of different characteristics.
But it has been the German drone brand Volocopter that has built the model that will take, at most, two passengers in the air of Dubai, thus relieving traffic congestion and, inevitably, pollution. The drone taxi is electric and uses GPS technology to program the route. You can make trips of up to 30 minutes; yes, you will need 2 hours to recharge.

If something stands out this technology is, in addition to the flight of up to 200 meters of altitude and a speed of 100 kilometers per hour, for the easy accessibility it will have for users. Whoever wants to access the services of the taxi dron will only have to request it through an app on his Smartphone, and he will immediately go to the meeting.
The landing is produced with a sophisticated ground control to avoid accidents, although the flying vehicle even carries a parachute.
The first flight was made on September 25 and, for the moment, the drone did not carry passengers. But it is the first autonomous flight, without human monitoring, and the tests have been a success.
Dubai wants to generalize this transportation system within the next 5 years. But the claims go much further. The emirate intends that by 2030 a quarter of its vehicles will be air self-driving.
