Diametrically opposed to the view disseminated by the corporate media...
You won't see this on the 10 o'clock News...
Here is that "ruthless dictator who uses chemical weapons on his own people"...
Ha ha, what a difference between him and his people's reaction to him and our parasitic so called "Leaders"! When Cheney came to Charleston, you couldn't get within a thousand feet of him. He brought with him a veritable army of protectors, literally thousands of police and secret service personnel armed to the teeth.
When Obama came to Charleston, blocks were actually closed; you couldn't even walk within a certain radius of his presence.
No matter what bullshit the corporate media spews, actions speak louder than words... only the braindead continue to believe the official narrative.
See for yourself. Assad is not at all like our so called "Leaders"; his approval rating is far higher than our "bought and paid for" politicians.

What People Are Saying:
"USA in envious of the love Syrian People have for their beloved Bashar al-Assad! USA hates real leaders and real culture, since USA has no real culture, only capitalist greed and hate.
USA Gangsters corrupted their own people and they totally hate the fact that they can't have the souls of Syrians. They are not for sale!" ~Arnel Alcomendras
~~
"No wonder the US wants to get rid of Assad, he has qualities that the US lacks and pure envy drives them to madness, as is witnessed on a daily basis by their illegal, inhumane and corrupt actions. Looking forward to see the culprits at the Hague which must be done for the survival of humanity." ~John Mason
~~
"And the Liars maintain that Assad is not wanted by his People. Show a Western Leader who will dare to go out and about in the as difficult situation as Syria is now." ~Baluch
~~
"President Assad be careful and be well protected, as the "Outsiders US Terrorists" still lurk around and occupy parts of Syria, although the worst is over, but until the US is thrown out completely, nothing is over..." ~A.S.I.
~~
"I've never seen any of our presidents here in the US do this or humble themselves to this extent. And this isn't the first time I've witnessed this president do so. Good job President Assad. I'm sure just this little bit is a great morale booster." ~Yusuf_Ali
~~
"Most Syrian love him because of humbleness, not like other Arab and non-Arab arrogant, so called illegitimate leaders." ~Mirabbas Razavi
~~
"Iran, Syria, Russia, and Iraq, will overcome those barbaric savage terrorists, that have killed thousands of people in Syria alone. Not to mention how many people Israel has killed, by bombing the Syrian military that's fighting terrorists. I wonder who's side they're really on... LOL. We all know all about Saudi terrorist and Israel position on all of the M.E. crises. Shame on both of them. All the innocent women and Children have been killed by them, and families torn apart all over. Evil will NOT win." ~A.S.

These Independent Journalists are my friends on Facebook and they share a wealth of information on Syria. Their pages are public and you can just follow them to keep abreast of the latest developments in that war, which could push our entire world into a world war. Several of them are also on Twitter and I hope they'll be on Steemit soon.

So what exactly is your argument? Assad is in a video meeting some people, which suddenly makes him a good leader? This guy cracked down so hard on people protesting his dictatorial government that it embroiled the whole nation in a horrible civil war killing hundreds of thousands and displacing millions. US involvement was not a factor then and your comparison to their leaders is skewed.

Your view is exactly what the corporate media has diligently cultivated and fostered. The Banksters' War Industrial Complex is counting on millions of Americans subscribing to the same credo.
I will sit down and write an entire blog addressing your comment in detail.
Thank you for the comment! I really appreciate it!
I will be back here with a link to the blog.

I'm not American and not subscribed to those views any more than you are. I've never defended US foreign policy and hope that you don't tire yourself out defending Assad's propaganda. The findings are that his chokehold on leadership in the face of the Arab Spring has led to immense suffering of his people. There's no defending anyone who causes that much harm to its own citizens.

On a second thought, Eva Bartlett has done a far better job than I could have. You will find the truth of what happened in Syria right here: http://bit.ly/2sYlgdE
It is not a civil war; it is a regime change. You know, the type USRAEL has effected over and over ad nauseam...
