Examples of establishment of Khaleda Zia's rule of law: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khanan Kamal said the example of establishing the rule of law in the country imposed on former prime minister Khaleda Zia for corruption.

The minister said this at the ceremony of United Islamic Party organized at Azampur Government Primary School ground in Uttara on Friday morning.He said the trial was done according to the law. If they have something to say, there are high courts, they can go there. If there is more clarification, there will be. We can say that we do not have any influences on the judges. The judges are independently proclaiming their verdict and will do so in the future.

The Home Minister also said that law and order situation is much better than any of the past.Food Minister Kamrul Islam on Saturday said that shameful for the democratic politics of the Khaleda Zia.

On Thursday, the judge of the special court declared the verdict of Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case. Md. Akhtaruzzaman. Apart from this, five senior BNP leaders including Tarique Rahman were fined 10 years and fined Tk 20 million.Shortly after the pronouncement of the verdict, the former prime minister was taken to the old Central Jail of Old Dhaka's Nazimuddin Road. The other accused in the case are - Magura's former MP (MP) Kazi Salimul Haque Kamal, businessman Sharfuddin Ahmed, former Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office Kamal Uddin Siddiqui and Shahid President Ziaur Rahman's nephew Mominur Rahman have been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment. Among them, Tarique Rahman, Kamal Uddin Siddiqui and Mominur Rahman are absconding.
