Police detained in Mymensingh BNP demonstrators pond: 31 held with district secretaries

BNP's protest rally in Mymensingh has become pandalized. Police have detained at least 10 activists including Mymensingh South District BNP General Secretary Abu Wahab Akand, from the procession.The police dispersed the processionists after the BNP and its organizational leaders brought out a procession from Juba city's Newbazar Sahib Road on Friday.

Earlier, more than 21 leaders and activists were arrested in the special operation from Thursday night till 10am. Accordingly, 31 BNP leaders including the BNP secretary general were detained.Meanwhile, police from the morning kept the BNP locked office around the city's Hari Kishore Roy Road. As part of the central program, at noon, the procession from the city's Newbazar Sahib Road reached the boundary road area and the procession was dispersed when the police surrounded the procession.District BNP general secretary Abu Wahab Akand, BNP leader Monir Ahmed, city leader Jubo Dal leader Rajib Hossain, district Jubo Dal leader Monir, Atahar Kamal, former JCD student Alam, workers union leader Debbrat Das, volunteer group leader Alamgir, student activist Anisuzzaman Shuvo were arrested Police.District Additional Superintendent of Police Al Amin said police action has been increased to protect the people's security and life. Police have been deployed at the city's intersections to avoid violence and sabotage. Police patrols in the city have been strengthened.Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mahmudul Islam said that 10 people were arrested from the spot including district BNP secretary for trying to carry out a procession and picketing.
