New Tool from Busy.org - Create New Steem Blockchain Accounts with SteemConnect!

in news •  8 years ago

Update: As of today, it looks like account_creation_fee is 0.2 STEEM. So, even cheaper and easier, if I'm doing this right (so 6 STEEM total? And why is it that amount times 30?)

6 STEEM is correct based on the account creation fee of 0.2. 30x is the formula that the blockchain uses. 0.2 is the minimum amount that must be used if doing the delegated (more complicated) method.

It just is, though? There's no particular reasoning behind the number 30?

Not sure. The developers wrote it that way, I never asked why. One of the main purposes of the account creation fee is to ensure users have enough SP to cover the bandwidth requirements to interact with the blockchain.

This is definitely over my head.

Do the things we write actually interact with code that parses them and makes them useful to whatever the blockchain actually is? Or is it a facade/gimmick to make our silly musings feel meaningful, and there's really just magic money being paid for the things people like?

Quite a few people have used the tool to open accounts for themselves and friends. I think it is a little more than a facade :)

If you are interested in using it, let me know and I can help.

Wait. I thought we were talking about Steemit. I am using it, aren't I?

I don't know if you understand this post.. SteemConnect is a tool that can be used for users to create new accounts.

But just a moment ago, we were talking about the Steemit account creation fee. I was asking if the Steemit Blockchain actually does anything with the posts, or if the posts on the site are just a facade. What is the function of the blogging aspect of steemit within the greater function of Steem generation?

What were you thinking is just a facade? I will be using SteemConnect to get my wife on here, but that's not what I was asking about.

I'm sure there is reasoning, I just don't know what it is.
