Russian President Vladimir Putin recalled how familiar his relationship with Chinese President Xi Jinping was.

In an interview with CCTV, as reported by SCMP Wednesday (6/6/2018), Putin claimed to celebrate birthday only with Xi.

Russian media, ITAR-TASS reported, Putin immediately opened a bottle of vodka and poured it in a glass when Xi came, and they toasted.

Reportedly, the two spent the night while telling each other about their father's experience during World War II raging.

"I will not hide it.We drink a glass of vodka while eating sausage," said the president who ruled for four periods.

Sputnik reportedly, Putin said Xi is a relaxed, affectionate, and reliable partner.

"I have never had a very close relationship with other world leaders, but I did it with President Xi," Putin said.

The interview on May 31 came ahead of Putin's visit to China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Qingdao from 8 to 10 June.

Since coming to power in 2012, Xi reportedly met Putin more than 20 times. The latter occurred in July 2017. During the visit Putin gave Xi the highest Russian award, the Order of St. Andrew, with Putin throwing himself a medal at Xi.
