in news •  4 years ago

Do you know where they went after retirement? After the "decommissioning" they were sealed in the steam locomotive exhibition hall as a standing locomotive. Located in the northwest of Da'an City, Jilin Province, the North Da'an steam locomotive exhibition hall covers an area of 20 square kilometers. It is the most complete, the most number of sets and the best management garden type steam locomotive exhibition hall in China, and the only storage vehicle base in the country. There are 372 sealed up locomotives, of which 222 are standing-up locomotives, which are equivalent to the "substitutes" for running trains.

On the 30 meter diameter locomotive turntable in the center of the exhibition hall, 79 black and red steam locomotives are arranged in radial shape, which have become reserve vehicles after the power change of railway. In line with the principle of "repairing old as old", the staff painted them black and tried to repair them. Now they all have regained their previous British posture and reappear as exhibits. Steam locomotive and diesel engine have not only unique beauty of massiness, but also witness of national development.
