In the capital's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, two passengers and eight gold bars hidden in underwear customs agents have seized. Two women and two men were arrested under the Customs Act in this incident.
On 20 February, gold recovered in the afternoon and the arrest of passengers occurred.
Two women arrested are Dalia and Afroza. Their home is located in Ganderia of Dhaka. On the other hand, the two arrested were Sarwar (32) and Biplob (27). Among them Sarwar's house is in Jurain of Dhaka. And the house of revolution is in Demra.
The total weight of the gold bars seized is 795 grams. Their market value is around Tk 40 lakh.
Customs sources said that the four passengers landed at Shahjalal International Airport around 5:30 pm on Tuesday. The flight comes from Bangkok to Chittagong via Dhaka. Customs detectives interrogated them at the airport as per the sources found in secret sources. At that time, eight gold bars were recovered from the two women's underwear, the customs detectives.
Customs Directorate Director General Mainul Islam Khan told Priyomcom that two youths were arrested according to the information given by the arrested women. The women said that the two young men were in charge of their care. In the interrogation, the youth admitted to being the owner of the gold mentioned.
Moinul further said that after the arrest, the transfer of four people to the airport police station is under process.
