gun control won't happen under democrats or republicans, says history

I often hear people bitch about lack of gun control, and then talk about how liberal they are because they hate Trump. Democrats and republicans have both had ample opportunity to enact reasonable gun control legislation and neither has ever, ever, ever done it to a reasonable degree. They are so in the pocket of the nra and/or afraid of 2nd amendment backlash, or they just like guns so much; for whatever reason, it does not change, with the exception of occasional restrictions on assault weapons, etc. Next time you are pretending you want reasonable gun policy, remember that as long as you vote for republicans or democrats that is all you are doing; PRETENDING YOU CARE ABOUT GUN CONTROL. How about voting into office people that represent your actual interests? You want gun control, find a politician that actually wants it too, and vote for them because you believe in them rather than because you were shamed into doing so, which seems to be the situation most professed liberals found themselves in last cycle.
