The Second day of discussions between Mike Pompeo and North Korea (Noko) have been concluded.

Noko has expressed negative feelings about Mike Pompeo's "gangster like" attitude during high level talks, where Noko felt Washington was seeking unilateral and forced denuclearisasation in North Korea.
Mike Pompeo, on the other hand, gave reporters a rather short and ambiguous statement of the meeting saying:
" These are complicated issues but we made progress on almost all the central issues. Some places, a great deal of progress, other places, there’s still more work to be done.”
Will Kim Jong Un denuclearise?
Looking at our history, Noko has continuously abused its calls to denuclearise, to gain political and economic favours from the world. Will it be any different this time?
There has been no direct conflicts between 2 countries or more possessing nuclear weapons ( as of now). And I believe that one of the main reason is because nuclear weapons acts as a deterrent of conflict itself. However, is this "peace" sustainable?
I highly doubt Kim will denuclearise. It not only weakens his negotiation edge, his image in the world, and possibly, his control over his people as it does not fit into the propaganda scheme he influenced his people with.
Assuming that Kim is a sane person, he probably cares about his safety and well-being just as any of us do. He also realises that possession of nuclear weapon will grant him a level of security that Syria's Al Bashar did not have. (Syria does not have nuclear weapons, and recently faced a joint missile attack from US, France and UK without much means of retaliation. It would be hard to imagine that Syria will have had to deal with missiles from US, UK and France, if Syria had nuclear weapons and posed a certain threat to each of the 3 countries.)
Hence, I do not see Kim denuclearising anytime soon, but at the same time, it is hard to imagine Trump allowing Kim to go back on his words.
What do you guys think? How can this issue be resolved, or will the both countries see no progress?
Will Kim Jong Un give up his nuclear weapons?
I wish everyone reading a good day.
Signing off,
Tesla.
