Zayn Malik has always been known for expressing himself via his collection of body art. He is now in the news as a result of a tattoo he allegedly got as a show of love to his girlfriend, Gigi Hadid.

The supermodel, Gigi Hadid posted a short Boomerang video clip which featured the former One Direction singer’s killer dance moves, a day after his birthday on Friday, January 12. In the video, Zayn wore a long jacket without an undershirt, thus allowing fans to have a good look at the ink on his midsection.

A few sharp-sighted fans couldn’t help but notice that a new tattoo – a pair of eyes right in the middle of his chest – looked disbelievingly similar to Gigi’s own pair. The new tattoo was among a myriad of other intricate tattoos that adorns the singer’s chest.

Gigi Hadid has a distinctive pair of eyes, and although no concrete evidence confirms this, it is tough to deny the resemblance. It is also not evident when Zayn added that tattoo to his body art collections.

Unsurprisingly, fans started posting frenzied comments after Gigi posted the video. A few of them were supportive while others were cynical.

Back in 2013, the ‘Pillowtalk’ singer displayed his love for his then-fiancée Perrie Edwards by adding a giant tattoo on his right arm. They remained engaged for more than two years before splitting in August 2015. Not long afterwards, he started dating Gigi Hadid and eventually covered Edwards’ face with another tattoo.

The US Weekly had previously broken the news that Gigi and Zayn were dating in November 2015. The supermodel, earlier this month, got on Instagram to gush about her love for Malik: “Love this man more than I could ever put into works, & am inspired by his drive to be and do better everyday cheers to your year my @zayn.”

Yolanda Hadid, Gigi’s famous mom, earlier this month, spoke about the lovable duo. “They are beautiful together and, you know, that’s up to them,” stated the 53-year-old host of Making a Model, regarding the possibility of wedding bells in the nearest future. “It is their journey. I’m here to support them in whatever their journey is, and you know they are still very young.”

But until Gigi or Malik confirm the inspiration behind the new ink-spotted on Zayn’s chest, everything hitherto is pure speculation.

Even though fans have differing opinions about Malik and Hadid’s relationship, it appears to be very solid, and whether or not Zayn has a tattoo of his sweetheart on his chest, it is his choice to make.
