Senate of Canada on Tuesday completely legalized the sale and use of marijuana.
For the bill, 52 senators spoke, 29 were against.
Now any adult citizen can freely buy up to 30 grams of a drug and grow up to four cannabis bushes at home. Marijuana can be sold in online stores;
while the drug should not be traded in the same places where tobacco and alcohol are sold.
Particularly acute disagreement among legislators caused the age from which to legitimate use. Many insisted on raising it to 21 years, but most senators agreed that,
that this will promote the growth of the black market and the involvement of young people in it.
"Today we saw a historic vote in the Senate that put an end to the 90-year ban on cannabis in the country, a 90-year-old useless criminalization, a 90-year-old prohibition that did not yield any results,"
- said member of the upper house of parliament Tony Dean.
The decision of the Senate was welcomed by members of the Canadian government led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. In particular, the head of the Ministry of Health, Ginett Petittas Taylor, stated that the country is entering an era of "reasonable, responsible and fair policy regarding the spread of marijuana."

The possession, use and production of any medicinal plant is a RIGHT - whether the criminal governments acknowledge it or not.
Now that a multi-million (if not billion) dollar industry has been created on the backs of hard working Canadians, the government, through large corporations, is blatantly robbing the people of this in an attempt to control and tax. Cannabis Growers of Canada is at the forefront of this battle.
As for growing your own, let's over-grow the government, support small producers and put these bullies out of business! Don't get sucked in by fancy packaging. You'll most certainly be paying more for less. But i guess if irradiated GMO cannabis is your thing, you'll be as happy as most people are with our grocery stores...
